Its buildings, many of them epic in size and design, range from the ancient to the high-tech and modern. 關於這句， 請問many of them這邊省略了甚麼? 另外epic在這邊應該是形容詞， 它的這種用法似乎有點突兀?

many of them are epic in size and design Something that is epic is very large and impressive (see Collins Cobuild Dictionary for Advanced Learners p.516 epic 2) many of them大概不能算是its buildings的同位語,因為範圍只是its buildings的一部分, 這種寫法只能視為插入語,所以和全句沒有文法關係,只是用來補充資料而已,所以不用句子的方式來寫,只寫出關鍵字.epic in size and design,不加動詞are
